I also play...
In 1965, I began playing in small combos for country club dances, private parties, wedding receptions and other venues. I played saxophone, one of my major instruments in college. My taste in music are the classic American songs from Broadway and movie soundtracks. Jazz, our native art form, from the 40's to the present time has produced the best music for me.
In the 70's, I performed with jazz ensembles in Jonesboro and Little Rock, Arkansas. With these groups I had the opportunity to play with well known musicians such as Dizzy Gillespie, Mel Torme, Lou Marini, and many others. In the 80's, some friends and I formed The Jazz Gallery, playing private parties and clubs. In 1986, we were honored with an invitation to perform at the Kennedy Center for the Performing arts in Washington D.C. During this time I also did extensive work in recording studios as a staff musician and arranger. I did sessions in Jonesboro, Little Rock, Memphis, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Muscle Shoals, Alabama. I enjoyed doing custom sessions and radio jingle-commercial productions.
I began playing piano professionally in the 80's, providing cocktail music for restaurants, private dinner parties, wedding receptions, art show openings and other functions. In Grays Harbor, I played at the Shilo Inn and the Quinault Resort and Casino and other restaurants in the area as well as private parties. I look forward to playing music here in the tri-cities area.
